My Story
Hi, I’m Chanda, — the owner of Crown + Cradle Doula Co., a faith-rooted practice devoted to nurturing parents through the sacred journey of birth and postpartum.
I am a healthcare administration professional, birth and postpartum doula, and a doctoral student researching maternal and infant health. My calling into birth work began long before degrees, certifications, and credentials — it started with a deep desire to serve, uplift, and honor families during life’s most transformative moments.
My care is grounded in evidence-based support, BIPOC cultural sensitivity, and spiritual presence. Whether I'm offering calming presence at a birth, preparing nourishing meals, or walking alongside you in postpartum recovery, I show up with compassion, reverence, and heart.
I'm also a certified placenta encapsulator and soon-to-be certified lactation educator!
When I’m not supporting families, you’ll find me spending time with my own, volunteering at my local gym working with children, mentoring aspiring healthcare administrators and birth workers, or researching ways to help close the maternal health equity gap.
Crown + Cradle is more than a company to me — it’s a ministry of presence, advocacy, and grace.
My Doula Destiny
I’ve always been passionate about advancing care systems — but I felt something deeper calling me: the sacred, hands-on work of supporting birth. Becoming a doula allows me to bridge my healthcare knowledge with compassionate, heart-centered care. I chose this path to honor the power of birth, and highlight the importance of culturally rooted, personalized support. Doula work isn’t just an extension of my career — it’s my superpower, my purpose, and a way to serve others with the dignity and love they deserve.
